Hi Guys
We had a fantastic weekend at Lucy Loves Fabric. How were your weekends?? What did you get up to??…
We had a lovely Sunday morning mooching around Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane in East London. Have any of you visited this area before? Spitalfields has a fantastic market with lots of fashion students selling their clothes, other established designers, jewellery, bits for the home. It’s really worth a visit, you’ll come across lots of one off pieces! And we all love that don’t we…
On Sunday there is something called the ‘Sunday Up Market’ selling a lot of vintage clothes and massages and some wonderful food from all around the world. Yummy.

Then you have Brick Lane where their famous Indian restaurants are also open for lunch. Along the street you have street sellers selling things that vary from week to week. There are a lot of art galleries in the area too that are well worth a visit.
We are quite a regular around this area on either a Saturday or Sunday, but if you haven’t been you have to go if you live in the London area or make sure you visit if you’re here on holidays or making a special visit.
Also visit Absolute Vintage… fantastic shop and you can’t miss it. All your vintage fashion NEEDS, and dont we need it….

Anyway we got chatting to a chap on one of the vintage stalls (I bought a wonderful fur coat….oooooh sumptuous….not real fur though I would like to clarify!) and as we were chatting I said what business I was in, and the lovely man then gave me a ‘trade discount’. We exchanged cards and he let me know another contact of a ‘cloth wholesaler’. Well that was enough to get my juices running and I convinced my lovely husband to go to this intriguing warehouse that apparently was open on a Sunday. After a few wrong turns we found it and as we walked into a huge warehouse FULL to the ceilings nearly of rolls of fabric!!!!! The word ‘cloth’ really didn’t do it justice. Out came a smiling man (Philip) from the office and after a lot of business chatter we happily stuck up a good business relationship that I am 100% sure will blossom and blossom. And this isn’t just exciting for us here at Lucy Loves Fabric it should be exciting for you guys too…………!!!………
Our new contact will be able to provide pretty much anything. Nothing vintage or antique…that is just OUR speciality. This is more if you want a colour scheme or you’re looking for a type of design, or suit material, tie material, cashmere, tweed…. TARTAN…. We have bought a couple of pieces of genuine Tartan, all the highest quality wool. Please don’t think of a picnic blanket when you think of Tartan, take a look at our pieces and let us know what you think. We can get hold of any you like, or if you would like one in a certain colour then let us know and we’ll get this for you. I will however be adding more of LLF choices soon so watch this space.
