New Service offered: Introduce fabric into your home consultation

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

After my first ‘Introduce fabric into your home consultation’ was such a success I have decided to offer it out to all of my clients.

My first consultation was actually requested by a lady who booked me for a presentation to the Women’s Institute. It was something that hugely excited me and went really well.

Let me tell you more about it..

The consultation will be for 1 hour – 1 hour and a half and will ideally be held at the clients home.

After a brief chat before me coming to your home I’ll ask you a little about your colour ideas (if you have any, if you don’t – don’t worry), I’ll bring along a few fabrics that I feel you may be interested in. I will view the room or space you are looking to improve by bringing in fabric, we’ll talk about ideas to bring it into the home and colours and design. I’ll bring along Interior ideas and a look book for you to browse and we can create a look for your home and discuss how to make it happen. After our consultation I will go home and produce a pack of ideas discussed, more info on shops and designers that I think you would be interested in and would house the products you are after and the expertise you require. I will also send samples of Lucy Loves Fabric material that you may be interested in. This will all come in folder form for you to keep.

Lucy Loves Fabric can be hired for sewing projects that we discuss, if a job is too big for us we can recommend a world of seamstresses.

After the consultation if the client orders material from Lucy Loves Fabric within a month of the consultation they will receive a 15% discount on all fabric.

The consultation costs £25 plus an expenses charge which will be 26pence per mile return journey.

Fabric is a fantastic way….

* To update your home affordably

* To bring in colour

* To tie a room in with another room in your home

* To complement more permanent features in your home and allow them to evolve with the fabrics used

* To create nostalgia if you would like to use some of our vintage fabrics

If this service interests you please call me on 07739718672.

PS – Obviously there will be some limit on how far we can travel, this can be discussed on an individual basis. xx

Stitch and Craft Show

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

The Stitch and Craft show at London’s Olympia was good this year. What I noticed was the increase in knitting stall’s, which is great!! It’s fantastic to see so many people choosing their colours and textures…

Someone I found really inspiring, and what a wonderful stall she had was Jan Constantine. What a talented lady.

I love the Union Jacks..

A busy, creative, fashion filled week ahead

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

I am seeing my delightful Rowan rep on Monday. So I’ll be ordering in some new ‘New Fabric’ from our designers. I always get excited about this!!! I was hoping to have this stock in before the fair in Chelmsford on the 27th Feb, but I’m not sure how likely this is. : ( Sorry guys!

I’m also going to be ordering some YARN!! A new addition to the Lucy Loves Fabric empire. I’m in love with the Kaffe Fassett yarns… yummy. I thought it would be a good addition as the Knitting Club is going so well, I’ll also be able to take the yarns along to the fairs… and once we have premises I’ll be able to load the stash right up : ))))

Speaking of premises…. I’ve been on the hunt this week and have some viewings next week too. So I’m on the case I promise.

Also next week I have been booked in by a delightful lady to advise on fabric for curtains in her front room, and how to introduce fabric in other ways into her living room. This is a first for me and I’m really looking forward to it.

Another exciting date in the diary next week is LONDON FASHION WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!! SO excited about this, I cannot wait to get engrossed in the catwalk and breathe in all the inspiration. I’ll be sure to take pics to show you all : )) Sommerset House is a fantastic venue. I’m going with a wonderful friend of mine too… which is always exciting hey girls! ;-)

So I just thought I would share this all with you. What plans do you guys have?

Newsletter

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Hi Boys and Girls!

My little newsletters have been rather infrequent of late.

I now have lots to share. LLF has had a very busy start to the year which is GREAT – thank you all! What with a regular spot at a Vintage Pop Up Market in Chelmsford hosted at The Shire Hall on the last Saturday of every month where both my vintage fabric and my new, vintage and retro inspired fabric went down like hot cakes! I’m now hosting a knitting club on Monday evenings in Brentwood (give me a call if you are interested 07739718672). I have also just launched… Lucy Loves… Cushion Covers. Along with Lucy Loves… Vintage Aprons.

We have also received the shade cards for yarn from Rowan, so I will soon be selling beautiful wools. I can hear the excitement from here!!!

We are gradually re-filling our stock piles and will be adding this to the website this week.

I plan to continue with my crafty ideas on a weekly basis on our blog. So don’t forget to sign up on our RSS feed found here.

Hopefully that will be enough to keep you all entertained, and thank you again for all your support.

Shade-cards received

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Excitement was developing in the Lucy Loves Fabric workroom today when there was a knock at the door this morning, my lovely cheerful postman standing with a very intriguing parcel for… ME! : )

It’s the shade cards from Rowan for the yarn I can purchase. Now all I have to do is CHOOSE!!!… What a truly dreadful job I have… ;-)

I will of course be consulting my lovely knitting ladies on Monday evening.

Do you have a favorite Rowan yarn? If you do… let me know!

I’m off to play… I hope you are having a good day!
